Frequently asked questions
Manna Academy
We believe in the family working together to create amazing musicals. As a family, we go out all over the UK and Europe to bring the bible alive. Every year, we extend the performance to create a bigger musical, that will be performed in the community as an outreach event, and we invite you to be part of training all year to make this happen. The main performance will take place each Summer.
We are a supportive community within our cast, where you can form meaningful friendships and relationships that will endure for years to come.
Manna is geared for ages 10 to adult split into age related classes.
Manna is on Monday afternoon and evenings
We will be starting Manna in Formby at the Lighthouse Church from September
Manna is term-time only
Classes are as follows
4:30 pm - 5:30pm - Ages 10- 14
5:45 pm - 6:45 pm - Ages 14-17
7pm - 8pm - Principle Parts Rehearsal for those with Casted roles ( Rehearsal Schedule will be sent out when casting has taken place) ( in addition to their class above)
8:15 - 9:30pm - Adults
There is no upper age limit, and we have had 80-year-olds on stage with us. We love the diversity and joy this brings.
As Christian workers and a family passionate about evangelism, we focus on helping others grow in their artistic gifts to share Jesus within their communities and churches. Therefore, we do not impose a formal class fee for our activities, including our outreach performances. We trust Jesus to provide for our needs as a family and are working to build our sponsorship base.
We kindly ask that those who attend Manna, whether as a parent sending a child or as an adult participant, consider partnering with us. We are seeking 100 sponsors at £20 a month or 50 sponsors at £40 a month to support our mission and extend our reach into the nations.
We invite you to consider becoming a partner with us and assist in our efforts to share the message of Jesus.
You can find out more by clicking below.
We believe in having smaller class sizes so we can get to know your children well as such we limit our class sizes to 20 children per class.
A waiting list is available for your child if the class is full.
Yes, we ask that all who attend purchase a Manna T-shirt and or hoodie and that comfortable trousers be worn to attend.
The Crick family will be taking all the evening sessions. Between them, they have over 25 years of vocational experience both in the mission field and teaching performing arts. Jaime and Arialle have both taught remotely and in person as independent tutors for Trinity College London in musical theatre and Speech and Drama with 100 % pass grades often with Distinctions.
There isn’t an audition to attend Manna, but if you would like to be in a scripted or singing role, there will be auditions for these parts.
However, although we do not audition for the general cast, we do ask you to share how you came to know Jesus as your Lord and Saviour and which church you attend. It is so important to us to know that we all are working toward the same goal and that is to make Jesus known and His name great. You can email registration@mannafamily.co.uk to get the process started.
Out of education settings, there are currently no structural guidelines on this, however, best practice as stated by NSPCC is observed in our classes. As below.
9-12 years - One adult to eight children
13-18 years - One adult to ten children
There will always be two adult team members present
If young people are helping to supervise younger children, only people aged 18 or over should be included as adults when calculating adult-to-child ratios
As a family, we go all over the nation and Europe sharing our productions. As a bigger cast, we will be working on a production Called Shoeless The Musical of the Prodigal Son, to be performed in the Liverpool area in July 2026
That is fine, we are here to answer anything you may like to know. Please, do get in touch with us, registration@mannafamily.co.uk
